Robert McKenna Anderson began painting at The Fort Wayne School of Art in 1987. It was one of the last "old school" art schools and it was nestled in the historic district of his hometown. When it was closed, he transferred to Saint Francis University where he continued his education in fine art for 2 more years. In 1988 Anderson began working as a graphic artist for a large screenprinting factory where he illustrated and designed t-shirts for rock bands such as U2, Bon Jovi, INXS and many others. In 1989 he left the graphic art world and started to work with galleries as a fine artist. Most of his career has been in the west, based out of Phoenix AZ and Santa Fe NM. Anderson has won many awards including: Best of Show, Taos Open, First Place-Taos Open, New American Paintings selection, Best of Phoenix, New Times, Florence Italy Biennale selected artist and many more.
