Description: During my time on safari in Kruger National Park, a group of us were invited to visit the Lillydale Community. This special little village is nestled in the bush and I was struck at how the community works together to help each other day by day. We visited the school, the medical center and the orphanage . Out of all the beauty I saw over the course of this trip, the image of this young orphan nestled on this woman’s back is what struck my heart the most. I have never felt so inspired to paint the human form as I did at that moment and so this painting was born. I was also inspired to help this community and this little boy so the decision to auction off this original painting was easy. The money raised will go towards the school this little boy will attend that desperately needs repairs and supplies.
